Amanavikrana Foundation
Founder/President
Manasvi Adusumilli
Manasvi's journey began with a passion for justice and a commitment to supporting those who have been wronged by the system. In the US, she worked with foundations focused on exonerating innocently convicted individuals and providing them with the resources needed to rebuild their lives. These experiences ignited a passion for supporting those marginalized by the justice system and she became deeply committed to advocating for those who are often neglected by society.
After moving to India, she was confronted with the harsh realities of the prison system here. The lack of structured rehabilitation programs and support was alarming. She strongly believes in the ideal of a second chance. Every individual, regardless of their past, deserves an opportunity to redefine their future. Driven by this belief and her unwavering commitment to humanizing the criminal justice system, she founded the Amanavikrana Foundation.

SIGNIFICANCE OF NAME
Developed from a Sanskrit root, the name Amanavikrana holds deep significance. Defined as "dehumanization" or "negation of humanization," this name reflects the systemic failure to treat convicts as humans and the frequent neglect of their rights. Our foundation aims to challenge this dehumanization by advocating for fair treatment and providing opportunities for prisoners and juveniles to reintegrate into society.
We specifically attempt to work with former convicts who are not a continued threat to society or themselves. Recognizing that every situation is unique and these cases cannot be generalized, we approach each case individually. This can often be strenuous, but is essential for acquiring genuine, effectual change. We understand our mission may be viewed as controversial, but we firmly believe that change can only be attained if issues we find it convenient to overlook are diligently addressed. By offering a second chance to those committed to optimizing it, we strive to create a more compassionate and just society, where every individual is treated dignity and respect.
